The Laurel Library Friends group was formed in 1996 to join with other PG County Friends groups in support of the PG County library system and the Laurel library in particular. The Laurel Friends hold meetings at the Laurel Branch Library, lower level meeting room, on one Monday each month at 7:00 pm during the Fall, Winter and Spring months of the year. Everyone is welcome and can join for a nominal membership fee. Other activities have included bake sales and other fund raising activities to raise money for the library and for the support of summer programs for children and adults, and petition drives to gather signatures in favor of reasonable levels of library funding within the PG County Budget.
