We are Troop 1010 a part of the National Capital Area Council's Patuxent District for over 25 years. Located in Laurel Maryland, we are sponsered by St. Nicholas Catholic Church.
We meet every Wednesday from 7 to 9 pm. During the Summer (June through August) we meet at the Church. Winter months (September through May) you'll find us at Benjamen Harrison Elementary School. Mr. Bob Herrman is our Scoutmaster and has been for 6 years.
Our Troop Committe meets the first Wednesday of every month (at the location of our troop meeting) and is chaired by Joe Passmore. Everyone interested is welcome to attend, and we're always looking for a few good parents to join and help out.
Every month our troop focuses on a new merit badge to promote advancement. Also every month we have a planned camping trip (with the exception of April and December). This year we plan to visit the USS Yorktown, in South Carolina, and spend the night aboard the ship. On past trips you'd have found us hiking (and camping) on parts of the Appalachian trail, the C&O canal, or on biking and canoeing trips. Check out our up coming activities.
Over the years, we have held summer camp at Goshen and Rock Enon. The scouts have enjoyed their experiences, and are looking forward to this years summer camp in July.
